Clemons
was selected in the 8th round of the 1987 NFL draft (218th overall)
by the Kansas City Chiefs and had a tryout with NFL Tampa Bay
Buccaneers in 1988. Mike signed as a free agent with the Toronto
Argonauts in June, 1989.
Clemons
was named the 38th head coach of the Toronto Argonauts in
August 2000 following a 12-year, record-setting playing career
with the Argonauts. In November 2000, the responsibilities
of Vice President of Football Operations were added to Clemons'
portfolio.
Well
known for his exploits on the field, "Pinball" may be better
recognized for his contributions to charity and the community
while out of uniform. His countless hours of work and ever-present
smile have made him one of the most recognizable, well liked
and respected athletes in Toronto sports history.
