List of Non-Conforming Drivers
The
Royal Canadian Golf Association (RCGA) followed the lead of
the United States Golf Association (USGA) and has compiled a
list of driving clubs that do not conform with its test adopted
in October of 1998 measuring spring-like / "trampoline" effect
of the driver face. These clubs are prohibited from use in golf
competitions in Canada conducted under RCGA Rules.
This
list has been provided to all pertinent professional tours
and will be maintained and updated on a regular basis for
public examination on the RCGA web site.
The clubs
are listed in alphabetical order by manufacturer. In using
this list, please pay close attention to the "Identification
Markings" column. This column details the exact markings (if
any) on the sole, toe, and/or heel of each club listed.
The USGA
has examined more than 900 golf clubs to determine compliance
with its "trampoline" / spring-like effect standard. Questions
about this list may be directed to the USGA Technical Department
at (908)-234-2300.
